In early June, the Fujian Aotai Automation project team traveled to the East China region to complete the on-site installation and commissioning of ADV Doppler ultrasonic flowmeters. The equipment has now been officially put into operation as part of a local key wastewater discharge point’s online flow‑monitoring project.
The effluent at this discharge point contains high levels of suspended solids and exhibits highly variable flow conditions, making traditional measurement devices prone to clogging and loss of accuracy. The Aotai ADV Doppler flowmeter leverages acoustic Doppler current profiling and the velocity‑area method to accurately measure flow velocity, water level, and real‑time discharge, adapting seamlessly to complex operating conditions such as open channels and non‑standard outlets, while effectively resisting interference from sewage, sediment, and debris. Featuring a low‑power‑optimized design and equipped with a wireless transmission module, the device continuously collects data around the clock and remotely uploads it to a supervisory platform, providing automatic alerts for flow anomalies and enabling precise control of wastewater discharge volumes.
During the project’s construction phase, Austar’s technical team conducted on-site surveys of cross‑section dimensions, optimized the positioning of support structures to avoid areas prone to eddies and sedimentation, and efficiently completed equipment installation, cable routing, and integrated platform commissioning. Upon full deployment, the monitoring system filled a critical gap by enabling round‑the‑clock automated flow measurement at this site, providing precise data to support regional wastewater discharge accounting, source‑tracing investigations, and comprehensive water‑environment management, thereby helping local authorities implement long‑term, standardized control of discharge outlets.
