To ensure the smooth progress of urban drainage network operations and maintenance and to strengthen the city’s flood‑prevention defenses during the rainy season, the urban manhole drainage renovation and monitoring upgrade project has recently adopted an intensive nighttime overtime schedule. The construction team is racing against time, tackling challenges head‑on, and taking advantage of the quieter nighttime hours—when traffic and pedestrian flows are lighter—to efficiently carry out tasks such as manhole inspections, equipment installation, and pipeline commissioning, thereby accelerating the project’s implementation and achieving tangible results.
Urban manholes are critical nodes in the municipal drainage system, directly impacting urban flood‑control and runoff management, the smooth operation of the pipe network, and public safety. To minimize the disruption to daytime traffic and residents’ daily lives, construction crews worked around the clock, meticulously carrying out tasks such as underground silt removal, equipment installation, circuit commissioning, and data integration. At the site, safety protocols were strictly enforced, and quality control was rigorously maintained, ensuring that every manhole renovation and every monitoring device installation met precise standards and delivered stable, reliable performance.
