Orifice FLOW METERs are standardized and have a simple and sturdy structure; Easy to replicate, highly versatile, and cost-effective, it has gained a wide range of applications. However, orifice flow meters also have some significant drawbacks due to their structural defects; If the outflow coefficient is unstable, the linearity is poor, the repeatability is not high, the accuracy is not high due to various factors, it is easy to accumulate dirt and wear, the pressure loss is large, the range ratio (range) is small, the on-site installation conditions are high, and the required straight pipe section is too long.
The optimization and improvement work on the throttling device that generates differential pressure has not been interrupted. The development work on its size, geometric form and parameters of the throttling element, inlet edge profile, pressure and throttling methods, and replaceable orifice plate has been ongoing. For example, non-standard throttling devices have been developed to measure the flow rate of dirty fluids, including circular orifice plates, eccentric orifice plates, wedge-shaped orifice plates, wear-resistant orifice plates, annular orifice plates, bent pipes (elbows), etc. This perfected and improved work did not develop into a qualitative leap until the mid-1980s, when the concept of throttling and contracting fluids near the central axis of the pipeline was fundamentally changed to gradually throttling and contracting fluids to the inner wall of the pipeline using a V-shaped pointed cone installed coaxially in the pipeline. Measure the flow rate by measuring the differential pressure before and after the V-shaped inner cone. This V-shaped internal cone flowmeter has opened a new page for differential pressure flowmeters. The use of V-shaped cone flowmeter can achieve more accurate and effective flow measurement of clean or dirty fluids with a wider range under shorter straight pipe conditions.
Three structural types of V-shaped cone throttling device
1. The diameter range of the measuring tube is generally from 15mm to 900mm.
2. Wafer type, also known as flange clamping type, has a diameter range from 15mm to 150mm.
3. Insertion (with top tube wall) type, with a diameter range of 150mm to 1800mm, has poor accuracy due to inability to calibrate, with an uncertainty between 3% and 5%, and the repeatability of measurement values is still very good.

1. Purpose and Characteristics
Insertion V-cone is a new type of sensor developed on the basis of pipeline V-cone, which has the characteristics of pipeline V-cone. Under the same conditions, its pressure loss is only 5% of the Venturi tube and 1% of the standard orifice plate, with a large differential pressure value and high system reliability. It requires almost no maintenance and is particularly suitable for measuring large-diameter gas flow in thermal power plants, boiler air ducts, and other applications. Require a certain amount of front and rear straight pipe sections.
