As the Spring Festival approaches, Fujian Aotai Automation Equipment Co., Ltd. is fully committed to supporting the construction of a smart drainage project in a certain city in southern China. The company’s technical team was among the first to head to the site, conducting thorough on-site surveys and scientifically determining the construction plan based on the project’s specific requirements. They are steadily advancing the installation and commissioning of manhole monitoring sensors and underground road water level detectors. Meanwhile, technical staff are providing professional guidance remotely, assisting with on-site installation and configuration. With cutting-edge technology, the company is firmly ensuring the safety and reliability of urban drainage systems against flooding.
The newly deployed Austar smart monitoring equipment features a telemetry host with a robust stainless steel enclosure that is corrosion-resistant and highly durable, making it perfectly suited for the complex installation environments found underground. The manhole monitoring sensors can precisely collect core data from multiple dimensions: water levels are measured using a combination of hydrostatic pressure and radar sensing; water volume is monitored via a dual-mode Doppler flowmeter that integrates radar and ultrasonic technologies; and water quality is detected by customized digital water-quality sensors. Additionally, buried road-water-level detectors have been strategically deployed to provide comprehensive monitoring of urban flooding and water accumulation in every corner of the city. All devices are equipped with built-in battery-powered self-sufficient systems, eliminating reliance on mains power. They also utilize wireless 4G transmission technology to ensure real-time and stable upload of monitoring data to the city’s management platform. During project implementation, the team leveraged remote OTA (Over-The-Air) updates to configure operating parameters at each installation site, efficiently completing device setup across all locations. This provides precise and efficient data support for urban pipeline operations, flood-warning systems, water-quality management, and urban flooding response, thereby driving the intelligent and refined upgrade of urban drainage management.
The intensive construction efforts undertaken on the eve of the Spring Festival have accelerated the deployment and implementation of smart monitoring equipment, ensuring the continuous smooth flow of the city’s drainage “capillaries” and comprehensively strengthening the city’s flood-prevention safety defenses.
