Recently, the core products of Fujian Aotai Automation Equipment Co., Ltd. have been successfully implemented at a wastewater treatment plant in southern China, being used respectively for liquid-level measurement in sewage ponds and air-flow monitoring in aeration tanks. By leveraging precise data collection and system integration, these products are helping to enhance the level of automated control and management in wastewater treatment.
To address the issue of foam formation on the liquid surface of sewage ponds, which makes measurement particularly challenging, the project has adopted Austech’s two-wire ultrasonic level transmitter. The device is externally powered by a 24V DC supply, and its wiring is simple yet well-suited to the complex environment of the plant site. It outputs a standard 4–20mA signal, enabling seamless integration into the plant’s automated control system. Equipped with proprietary automatic wave-control technology, the transmitter dynamically adjusts the acoustic wave output power based on the measured distance, effectively penetrating foam layers, minimizing interference, and ensuring highly accurate measurements. This provides reliable data for controlling pump start-up and shut-down as well as for early warning of liquid-level changes in the sewage pond.
Meanwhile, the aeration tank is equipped with Austech thermal gas mass flow meters to monitor air flow, enabling precise control of key parameters in the aeration process. These devices directly measure the flow rate of the aeration air source without requiring additional temperature or pressure compensation. They also output a 4–20 mA signal directly to the automatic control system, ensuring real-time synchronization of flow data. Operating in tandem, these two devices achieve closed-loop control of liquid level and aeration flow, helping wastewater treatment plants optimize process efficiency, reduce energy consumption, and provide robust technical support for meeting discharge standards.
