After site selection by the Urban Construction Institute, the Engineering Department of Fujian Aotai Automation Equipment Co., Ltd. completed the installation and commissioning of an ultrasonic wireless remote sensing device for water level measurement near Shuanglong Temple on Jinji Mountain in Jin'an District, Fuzhou City, on November 18, 2025. This device is primarily used to measure the liquid level in a water supply reservoir measuring 20 meters by 5 meters, providing technical support for water supply monitoring.
The device employs a non-contact measurement method that does not require any physical contact with the water body. This approach not only prevents secondary pollution but also remains unaffected by water quality or debris, significantly reducing operational and maintenance workload. It features a built-in AUTEC ultrasonic module that allows independent adjustment of long-, medium-, and short-wave parameters, enabling precise control over the emitted wave energy. Both the main unit and the sensor meet IP68 protection standards and are housed in stainless steel enclosures, making them well-suited for long-term deployment in outdoor environments.
It measures water level by calculating the time difference of ultrasonic wave reflection. Powered by a 133 Ah battery, it combines low-power and sleep-mode technologies to operate continuously for seven years under a “measure and upload data once every five minutes” mode, significantly reducing operation and maintenance costs. Data is uploaded to the server in real time via a dedicated 4G network. Its key parameters are outstanding: the transducer operates at a frequency of 40 kHz, with a measurement dead zone of 0.015 meters, a water-level resolution of 0.001 meters, and elevation measurements referenced to the zero-meter datum.
