Bracing Against the Typhoon, Standing Ready: Fujian’s Coastal Urban Areas Rapidly Deploy Subsurface Water-Level Sensors

As the typhoon flood season approaches, coastal urban areas in Fujian face multiple risks, including heavy rainfall, seawater backflow, and standing water on roads. To comprehensively strengthen the city’s emergency flood‑control capabilities and proactively fortify its safety defenses, local authorities have urgently launched a deployment of flood‑prevention equipment, installing large numbers of Fujian Aotai automated underground road‑water level sensors in key areas such as main and secondary arterial roads, low‑lying sections, and underpasses.
This device features an underground, concealed installation that does not impede traffic flow or detract from the urban landscape. With an IP68‑rated, high‑grade protection rating, it can withstand heavy rain, vehicle loads, and seawater corrosion, making it ideally suited to the complex operating conditions found in coastal areas. Equipped with a high‑precision sensing module, it continuously measures water‑depth data and, paired with wireless transmission technology, seamlessly uploads monitoring information to a management platform, enabling real‑time dynamic water‑level monitoring and early warning of potential hazards.
The entire system is quick to deploy, boasts long battery life, and features straightforward post‑deployment maintenance, ensuring stable, round‑the‑clock operation. This emergency installation has further strengthened the urban waterlogging monitoring network, addressing critical gaps in flood‑control surveillance and enabling management authorities to accurately assess waterlogging conditions across the entire area, thereby facilitating timely deployment of drainage resources and proactive mitigation of safety hazards.
