At the end of April 2025, the 1MHz acoustic Doppler profile flowmeter (H-ADCP) of Fujian Aotai Automation was installed and deployed at a hydrological unit in Hunan Province, and was officially put into use for water flow velocity measurement.
This device is compact in size, easy to install and has a reasonable cost, making it convenient for wide promotion. Functionally, it can be combined with a general RTU or ADCP dedicated terminal to upload data to the server, achieving remote monitoring. The application scenarios cover multiple departments: the hydrological department uses it for river flow monitoring, the urban construction department measures the flow of inland rivers, channels and discharge outlets, and the environmental protection department can complete flux monitoring in combination with pollutant parameters.
In terms of installation, the equipment is deployed on one side of the river channel and connected through a four-core air-conducting cable. It emits ultrasonic waves to the upstream and downstream at a "dual-beam" Angle respectively. Core parameters: Irradiation distance is nearly 60 meters, aftershock blind zone < 2 meters, minimum unit layer distance 0.1 meters, flow velocity resolution 0.001m/s, data refresh cycle 1 second; The usage conditions are that the sediment content in the river section is less than 10kg/m³, and the power supply is 12VDC.
In terms of working principle, the flow velocity is perceived by the Doppler frequency shift signal reflected by the acoustic scatterer in the water body. The flow velocity distribution is identified through 256-layer layering technology, and the average flow velocity of the water body is ultimately calculated.
